CPS-Pumps Extends UL Listings For Vertical Turbine Pumps

CPS-Pumps is very pleased & proud to announce that after months of certified testing, we have received our new certifications for a newly extended vertical turbine operating range (FP-CVT) of pumps from Underwriters Laboratory (UL).  Our current test facility has every up to date certification required to meet third party certifications, including ISO9001-2015 and ISO17025 requirements.  These certifications extend to all test equipment including kilowatt meters, flow meters, discharge gauges and calibrated electrical drivers.  We currently manufacture our standard vertical turbine pumps (CVT) from a 5″ through 42″ diameter bowl.  This product line is our most highly engineered product offering allowing for an almost infinite configuration of components and materials.  From a variable hydraulic offering of flows and pressures, variable staging, custom and engineered overall lengths, optional metallurgies and an engineered system connection, rest assured if you are in need of a vertical turbine pump, CPS-Pumps is your one-stop shop!!

In our vertical turbine fire protection offering (FP-CVT), we use a limited hydraulic offering of 7 models due to the strict minimum & maximum flows required by this market.  The following UL certified sizes and stage arrangements are as follows:

  • 10CMC – 3 stage to 20 stage
  • 12CMC – 3 stage to 17 stage
  • 14CMCR – 3 stage to 7 stage
  • 14CHCR – 3 stage to 5 stage
  • 16CLC – 2 stage to 5 stage
  • 19CMC – 1 stage to 2 stage
  • 19CHC – 1 stage to 2 stage

Our exhaustive testing covered both 50 cycle (1450 RPM) and 60 cycle (1760 RPM) speeds covering all electrical and Diesel engine applications regardless of the country in which the product is being installed.  Our product offering also covers packed, cast iron discharge heads in a 6″, 8″, 10″ & 12″ discharge flange size with specialized, fabricated, high pressure heads rated for 300 PSI applications in a 6″, 8″ & 10″ discharge flange size.  These discharge heads and staging combinations allow CPS-Pumps to offer pumps with pressures from 40 PSI (2.75 Bar) to 544 PSI (37.5 Bar), an incredible operating range for any fire protection product line.

CPS-Pumps has manufactured fire protection pumping equipment since 2004 and this newly extended operating range greatly expands our previous vertical turbine offering.  These new UL flows and pressures allow us to grow our every expanding vertical turbine fire protection markets throughout the world.  We continue to service our loyal distributors in the Caribbean, South America, Middle East and Asia hemispheres and are on the search for new accounts everywhere.  These new listings were completed based on the valuable input we continue to receive from our CPS-Pumps distributor network spanning the entire world.  Our operational philosophy is to continue the innovation of the products we manufacture to meet the ever changing market demands that we see from all corners of the planet.  Each region of the world has their own individual requirements and it’s our job to manufacture product that meets and exceeds these customers requirements.

For our Canadian accounts, the new UL listings also come paired with the cUL certification.  This is an additional certification that CPS-Pumps added new based on the request of our Canadian partners.  This certification will allow us to chase more applications from our northern partner allowing us to participate in a market that we were excluded from before.
